The Island Line bike path travels right past a historic location, the Auer Family Boathouse, which offers campground-style drinks and food, as well as canoe or kayak rentals for a paddle on the beautiful Winooski River. The Boathouse is located right off the Local Motion Island Line Trail where the Winooski River meets Lake Champlain.

The Boathouse has been around since the 1920s and has plenty of character. There is a piano inside, lots of artifacts from the old days, and supplies for boating and fishing. Depending on how fast you are biking, the boathouse is approximately an hour’s ride from Snow Farm Vineyard.

A Charlie Burger at The Auer Family Boat House hits the spot. Sometimes biking on the Island Line Bike path isn’t about getting to where you’re going, it’s about the stops along the way. Snow Farm Vineyard, like the Boathouse, is a great stop to make as you bike the Island Line Trail.

At the Boathouse there are places to sit where you can enjoy beautiful views of Lake Champlain. Visiting the Auer Family Boathouse is an experience like no other. If you visit you are sure to go back.

Just a friendly reminder that the Island Line Bike Trail and the Island Line Ferry are easily accessible at the winery. The Aeur Family Boathouse is just one of the many scenic stops along the trail.
If you like bike riding, there are lots of other Vermont Bike Tours nearby as well.
