Wine tastings are one of our most popular experiences.
Wine tastings at Snow Farm Vineyard & Distillery are offered as flights with an array of tastes from sweet and smooth to dry and full-flavored. With eight of the nine common styles of wine available along with spirits, there is something for everyone at our Vermont winery.
We also offer wine by the glass or bottle, non-alcoholic options, and have light snacks available.
Located on the shores of the Champlain Islands, you’ll experience stunning views of the lake and mountains as you make your way to the vineyard.
Seating includes the outdoor areas: the deck, patio, and lawn. Plus our indoor areas: the tasting room, annex, atrium and bar.
Explore our 13+ acre vineyard and walk to the top of Fox Hill behind the vineyard to soak in the views.

Do we need reservations for a wine or spirit tasting?
No. Snow Farm Vineyard & Distillery welcomes walk-ins during regular tasting room hours. For groups of six or more, call the tasting room at (802) 372-9463 ahead of time so we can set up space for your party.
What is a wine tasting like at Snow Farm?
You choose four or eight wines to taste from our list of whites, reds, and semi-sweet wines. Flights are served four at a time on a wooden paddle, poured in the recommended tasting order. Dessert wines, fortified wines, and small-batch spirits from our distillery can be added to any flight for a per-taste charge.
Can I taste spirits too?
Yes. Snow Farm Distillery spirits, including gin, grappa, white whiskey, maple liqueur, and raspberry liqueur, are available as individual tastes alongside any wine flight. Our spirits are sold exclusively on-site.
Do you have beer or other alcohol and non-alcoholic options?
Yes, we have local beer for sale along with our wines inside the tasting room. We also offer non-alcoholic drinks and specialty mocktails.
When is the Summer Concert Series?
Snow Farm hosts live music in the vineyard on Thursday evenings throughout the summer from June through early September. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, buy wine by the glass or bottle, and grab dinner from the food trucks on site. The current season’s lineup and dates are on our Concerts and Events page.
Are there overnight accommodations at Snow Farm?
Yes. Snow Farm Inn, our historic inn and farm on the shores of Lake Champlain, is a short walk from the vineyard and tasting room. Call (802) 324-5563 or visit our Stay With Us page to book.
Is Snow Farm kid-friendly?
Yes. Snow Farm is a family farm, and children are welcome on the property and at our summer concerts. Non-alcoholic drinks are available in the tasting room.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, leashed dogs are welcome throughout our outdoor spaces. Please keep your dog leashed at all times, be mindful of other guests, and bring bags to clean up.
Is there food available?
Yes. The tasting room offers light snacks including Vermont cheeses, meats, and crackers. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds.
Do you do tours of the vineyard and winery?
We don’t run guided public tours, but the vineyard is open for self-guided walks whenever the tasting room is open. We have a card that will guide you through the different types of Vermont grapes. Ask our staff for our suggested route through the vines.
Do you grow your own grapes?
Yes. We grow French hybrid and cold-hardy American varieties on roughly 13 acres in South Hero, Vermont. The Champlain Islands’ lake-moderated climate lets us grow grapes that don’t survive elsewhere in the Northeast.

Yes. Wine is available by the glass, by the bottle, and by the case in the tasting room, and we ship select wines through our online shop and wine club.

The Champlain Islands are a cycler’s dream. The long paved back roads are also great for running, and the long lost art of roller blading!
Kayaking around the Champlain Islands is a great way to see the shoreline and enjoy the outdoors. There are several public access areas to launch a boat from.

It wouldn’t be a visit to South Hero without a stop at one of the many farms, including ours! Whether you’re after fresh blueberries, apples, craft wines, or local meats, you’ll find something to enjoy in South Hero.
Make your day magical and hunt for the fairy castles throughout South Hero! They were built by South Hero local, Harry Barber, during the first half of the 20th century.
And you can’t visit the islands without stopping at the beach. With over 4,000 feet natural shoreline, Grand Isle State Park has expansive beaches as well as secluded, rugged areas to explore.
