Tucked away in Vermont’s Champlain Islands, Snow Farm Vineyard & Distillery offers an idyllic setting for nature lovers, couples planning their wedding, and anyone looking to host a special event or get off the beaten path. With views of Mount Mansfield and the Adirondacks, rows of lush grapevines, and a romantic heart-shaped path, it’s a place of natural beauty.
Recently, Snow Farm partnered with Air Bond Vermont to capture the vineyard through the art of drone photography.
A New Perspective with Drone Photography
Drone photography has transformed the way we experience places like Snow Farm Vineyard. “You get to see the world from a different angle, and it’s gorgeous,” says Ken Bond, owner of Air Bond Vermont. Over the past two years, Ken has used his drones to capture stunning aerial views of the vineyard, including moments like sunsets over Lake Champlain during summer concerts.
“The concert crowd in the foreground with the sunset and Adirondacks in the background—that’s the kind of shot you just can’t get from the ground,” he explains. Ken also enjoys filming the heart-shaped path, which he notes is a favorite for weddings. He says the shape of the mowed path that creates the heart can be perfected using a drone.
Ken’s Journey to Drone Photography
Ken’s path to becoming a drone photographer was as unexpected as it was inspiring. “I started flying planes years ago and loved the view from above,” he shares. “But with a drone, you can sit on the ground and capture the same incredible views without needing a plane.”
Ken received his first drone as a gift just two years ago and quickly discovered a passion for the craft. “It wasn’t long before I upgraded to bigger and better drones,” he says. Since then, he’s honed his skills and expanded his services to include not just wedding photography but also thermal imaging, real estate photography, and even inspections for slate roofs and solar panels.
His work has taken him beyond Snow Farm Vineyard, with projects ranging from promotional footage for vineyards in Canada to a music video for The Solstice, a song by his nephew J Bond. “The drone visuals made the video beautiful,” Ken says.
Why Snow Farm Stands Out
Ken has seen a lot of views from the sky, and he says Snow Farm Vineyard stands out as one of his favorites. “It’s such a unique spot,” he says. “Between the views, the lake, the Adirondacks, and the heart-shaped path, it’s a photographer’s dream.”
His drone photography has become an invaluable tool for showcasing the vineyard’s beauty. “The footage helps convey the atmosphere better than anything else,” Ken explains.
